Keio CCR was founded in 2006 as a new organization within Keio University School of Medicine; it receives financial support from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Mainly because of the lack of essential resources available to research groups, it has always been a tough challenge for Japanese investigators and clinical research sponsors to pursue research projects efficiently and to a high standard. In response to this situation, a primary goal of Keio CCR is to serve as the hub of a clinical research network that will enable investigators and sponsors to carry out clinical research that meets global standards.
Breaking new ground in clinical research in Japan, Keio CCR now provides various essential services to researchers, thus promoting research that directly benefits patients. Keio CCR works in close collaboration with many partners, including the various departments of Keio University School of Medicine, Keio University Hospital, the Center for Integrated Medical Research, the School of Engineering, and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies.
